Mother’s Day 2027 is Sunday, May 9. No Mother’s Day events for 2027 have been announced yet. Below is what the city and local venues did in 2026, so you know what to watch for, plus brunch spots and the Saturday market for a gift. We update this page as 2027 plans come out.

The Recreation Department’s spring guide listed these Mother’s Day events in 2026:

The city also held a Mother Son Date Night at Bees Landing on March 20, 2026, with dancing, contests, crafts and snacks. The 2027 events will be in the spring 2027 guide on the city’s Recreation page, usually out in January. Register for fee-based events through the city’s online registration.

Brunch

Restaurants post Mother’s Day menus and reservation details themselves, usually a few weeks ahead, and the downtown dining rooms book up. These serve brunch on Sundays, according to their own websites:

Gifts and markets

  • Charleston Farmers Market. Every Saturday from April through November, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Marion Square, 329 Meeting St., with farmers, food makers and juried arts and crafts from local makers, according to the Charleston Farmers Markets site. Saturday, May 8, 2027, is the day before Mother’s Day.
  • West Ashley Farmers Market. Wednesdays, 3 to 7 p.m., at Ackerman Park, 55 Sycamore Ave., from early April; the 2026 season opened April 1. Details on our farmers markets page.

Gardens

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, 3550 Ashley River Road, is open to visitors with admission; check its events page for anything planned for Mother’s Day weekend. The free city parks, from Hampton Park’s gardens to the Battery, are on our parks and trails guide.
