11 bakeries in Charleston: East Bay, Church, Queen and King streets downtown, WestEdge, Savannah Highway and Wappoo Road, and Folly Road on James Island.

Last checked Oct. 16, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

Charleston’s bakeries are mostly downtown: seven of the 11 on this list are on the peninsula, from East Bay and Church streets near the City Market up to upper King Street and WestEdge. West Ashley has three, on Savannah Highway, Wappoo Road and Shadowmoss Parkway, and there is one on Folly Road on James Island.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Charleston, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 16, 2026. We added the Wappoo Road Baguette Magic and the West Ashley BKeDShop from their own location lists. We left out Normandy Farm Bakery and Saffron Cafe & Bakery, whose sites did not load or no longer list the shop; Panera Bread, whose location page blocked us; Eat Me Cookies, which ships cookie cakes and gives no shop address; and cafes that mainly serve coffee, which are on our breakfast and coffee list. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.
